Officials in a Chinese city are offering cash for dead flies to promote public hygiene.
In just one day, more than 2,000 dead flies had been collected. Some residents even travelled to rubbish dumps to find flies to exchange for money.
An official said : "We think giving people money will be more effective than fining them to keep the city clean."
