Adjusting to life with a newborn

Whether you are a first-timer or a seasoned parent, caring for newborn can be overwhelming.
You need to be in good shape to take care of your baby so heed these practical tips :,a

Self-Care
Resist the urge to consume caffeine as your major beverage. Eat a balanced diet, drink plenty of water, and get some fresh air. Good habits will help you to maintain the energy you need to take care of your newborn.

Get plenty of rest
Get some sleep when your baby is asleep. Map out a night schedule with your husband that allows both of you to care for your baby and get adequate rest.

Expect a run-down of emotions
You may adore your newborn and marvel at the tiny fingers and toes one moment and feel a loss of indepedence or worry over your inability to care for the newborn the next. Tell your spouse what bothers you. Communications is key.

Nurture other relationships
Set aside time for your spouse and other children, if any.

Know when to seek help
